Networked capabilities - a durable jigsaw?
The 2010 Symposium on Military Sciences 25 - 26 May 2010 National Defence University Santahamina
The 2010 Symposium on Military Sciences discusses issues involving modern societies being based on networking. Consequently, special attention is paid on the impacts of networks on national defence, crisis management, and safeguarding the vital functions of society. This means asking, for instance, how we ensure that cooperation results in a jigsaw puzzle that is adjustable, extensive, and, most importantly, crises resistant.
Tuesday 25 May 2010 features Finnish and international experts, and the ensuing sessions are mainly conducted in English.

Wendnesday 26 May 2010 comprises parallel sessions, most of which are carried out in Finnish.
All the symposium sessions are open to the public. However, since an entry permit to the military area is necessary, please click REGISTRATION above, and, as soon as possible, initiate the form procedure.
The online registration for the symposium opens in March 2010. Please register before 10 May 2010. (As a foreign citizen you are expected both to submit the form and register online.)
Please note that a nominal catering fee of € 20,- will be collected from all at the reception desk when entering the symposium premises. All other parts of the symposium are free of charge.
The Symposium on Military Sciences is a biennial, cross-disciplinary event organised by the National Defence University, the Finnish Society of Military Sciences and other related associations. This year marks the organizing of the sixth symposium, and the previous one in 2008 attracted more than 400 participants.
